Spirit to add three more routes out of Dallas

Spirit Airlines has made another round of flight additions to its quickly growing Dallas/Fort Worth schedule.  This time, the carrier will add flights to Detroit, San Diego, and Toluca/Mexico City.

“Spirit Airlines is clearly gaining a lot of traction in the Dallas/Fort Worth market, with new flights to San Diego, Detroit and Toluca, Mexico,” said Jeff Fegan, CEO of DFW International Airport in Spirit’s press release. “We are very encouraged by Spirit’s growth and their entry into Mexico, which means more great travel options for our passengers.”

Spirit began operations at Dallas/Fort Worth on May 5, 2011.  With today’s announcment, Spirit will grow to 14 destinations from DFW in June.  Service to Denver, Myrtle Beach, and Tampa will begin early next month.

Spirit will operate one daily flight to the three cities from Dallas/Fort Worth beginning June 21.
